Ice Crystal Chandeliers

There is something special about a crisp wintery sunrise.

It warms the cockles of your soul.

Perhaps its the stillness of absolute calm…

Perhaps its nature’s tiny ice crystal chandeliers found hidden among the winter weeds…

Perhaps its the tingle of freezing fingers…

Perhaps its the fearful excitement that your camera shutter will suddenly freeze up… never to ever function again…

Perhaps its slithering along the hardened ground like some demented snake in search of elusive tiny prey…

Perhaps its the knowledge that your new pants are permanently stained for all time…

Perhaps its raging discomfort from contorted positions acquired while seeking proper perspective, composition and adequate lighting…

Perhaps its the heart-pounding thrill of the hunt in search of the perfect photograph…

Perhaps its the anger welling up inside that curses the all to shallow DOF of macro photography…

Or perhaps… just PERHAPS… its only me being me seeking beauty on a lonely winter’s morning.
